Dada And Thala!!! The Kings Of Comeback!

A bit of Cricketainment today,
but not exactly.


How many times can you
stage a comeback – from
zero to hero? Once? Twice?
But there are two individuals
who are invariably doing this
throughout their lives. No
prizes for guessing. They
are ‘Dada’ Sourav Ganguly
and ‘Thala’ Ajith Kumar.

Infact, both of them share
striking similarities – both of
them started their career in
1992-93 and flopped big
time. Worked with
perseverance and then shot
to fame – both of them – in
1996. When Dada was
lighting up the skies of the
Lords, elsewhere Thala
announced his arrival with
‘ Aasai‘. With consistent
performances, both of them
soon became a household
name in their respective
fields.

Guess what? Both of them
peaked in 1999. Dada
tormented the opposition with
scores of 130*, 97, 183 and
153* while Thala was busy
churning out blockbusters
‘Vaali’ and ‘Amarkalam’.

Be it, their Success Graph or
even their Failure Graph for
that matter, it traces the
same path!!! Apart from these
on-field coincidences, there
are some off field similarities
too – Like Bengali Mother,
Single Daughter, etc etc (Why
am I Googling too much )

And the media have never
been kind on both. To be
frank, it is the other way
around – both of them
haven’t been kind on Media!!!
Media will go all guns blazing
that their career is over,
only to be left with eggs on
their faces after some time.

But above all, there is a trait
that unifies both of them. Self
Confidence. Both of them are
‘ Epitomes of Self Confidence’.
There has never been a
period where they had shut
their mouth up for good
Both of them are open-
minded and straight forward. I
can go on and on and on but
will stop here.

To sum it up, “You can Love
them or you can Hate them.
But you just can ’t ignore
them“. And that is what has
earned them so many fans –
